Pools are a great source of entertainment for any family. However, these pools also require a great deal of work that is put in to making sure that the pools are ready to use every summer. Not only do you have to worry about cleaning that may require a trip to the pool every day without the enjoyments of getting in it, but you also have to worry about keeping the water at an acceptable pH level. In order to clean your pool more effectively, there are many tips that you can follow.
First off, cleaning your swimming pool may not be the best thing to do on your list, however, it is necessary. The cleaner the pool the less chance of having to add chemicals to the water in order to kill the bacteria in the pool water. So, you should clean out the pool at least every other day, or when you start to see lots of debris that is floating on the surface. The best way to clean out the debris is to have a long handled net so that you catch the debris on the top first, and throw it onto the ground. However, you also want to stir the water up so that you can also get to the debris that has went to the bottom of the pool. The debris on the bottom of the pool can make the pool slippery and turn it into a huge safety problem for those that get into the pool.
A great tool to have is a long handled brush that you can use to scrub the walls and the bottom of the pool with. You will want to use firm strokes so that you do remove the grime and sludge off of the pool. Periodically while doing this you will want to wipe the brush clean on a cloth so that you are simply not spreading the sludge around. You will more than likely have to switch between using the broom and the net in order to really get the job done properly.
You will also want to empty the filter that should be working to get the majority of dirt and debris out of the pool everyday. If this filter gets clogged, it is going to stop working and perhaps overheat which could lead you to having to replace the filter, which is going to cost you a pretty penny.
For those that are looking for way to prevent the dirt and debris from accumulating, they should consider having a pool cover on the pool during the times that it is not in use. However, this will keep the sun from penetrating the water and heating it up, so many people do not like to do this. But, it can reduce the time that you are having to clean the pool with a brush and a net. There are also tools on the market that work much like a vacuum to remove the dirt and debris, however, they are expensive.
